Did You Know?? -Senator Wayne Morse Addition

Oregon Senator Wayne Morse loved competing in horse shows and raised many horses on his property in Eugene. But in 1951, a horse kicked him in the head after he walked into its stall.  Getting kicked in the head by a horse could easily kill, but Morse escaped with torn lips, a fractured jaw, knocked out teeth and a lengthy hospital stay.  The accident did not deter him from his love of horses. In the 15 years he lived in Oregon, he owned over 180 saddle horses.
